Dream Category Definitions

Within your eLife Plan you will be able to categorize your dreams into 9 different categories. These categories are Career/Business, Education, Family/Relationships, Finances, Health, Pleasure, Public Service, Spiritual and Other. Each of us should have dreams in each category to ensure we are not achieving success in a particular area but that we are also pursuing a balanced life. We can focus our energy to those that we feel more drawn to but we cannot forget about the benefits of a balanced life. Each time we establish a new Dream we must ask ourselves how the pursuit of that dream may affect the other areas of our lives. To achieve Financial or Business success but lose out in the area of Health to attain it would be a waste of our time as without good health the riches and power are meaningless.

Career/Business - Whether you are an employee, commissioned salesperson or a self-employed business owner you have your own list of dreams on how your career/business should look now and in the future. Your Career/Business dreams may just be a recurring thought up to this point in your life. However, by entering a dream in your eLife Plan and reviewing it regularly you’ll begin to see yourself working in your new role, changing industries like you’ve always wanted to, expanding your business, etc. Part of the dream achievement process is once you commit your dream to writing you move closer to achieving your dream. You may be closer to enjoying the benefits from successfully reaching your dream than you know!

Education - We come to learn in life that wisdom has a tremendous value to us and it can affect our lives dramatically. Continuous learning not only benefits us in understanding more of what we experience in life, but we are also able to help others through our newfound knowledge. An Education dream can be something as simple as reading a particular book that may have a great impact on your life and how you live it or it could be continuing your formal education. Whatever your education dream is today you can be assured it’s a worthwhile one and one that’s within your grasp!

Family/Relationships - The most often forgotten category for most individuals to dream in and to set and achieve worthwhile goals is the Family/Relationship category. Each one of us needs have big dreams for how we can play a bigger role in the lives of others in our life. Such things as a relationship that needs to be rekindled or renewed, spending more quality time spent with your spouse or kids, taking a much needed a family vacation, watching less television and spending more time as a family, etc. These are just a small sampling of what can be improved on by establishing a dream in this Family/Relationship category. Time goes by too quickly to not establish some concrete things to do this year, this month or even today with member of our family to leave a lasting impression on their lives.

Financing - Most of us don’t have any trouble dreaming big financial dreams. An abundance of money has most likely crossed all our minds at some point in our lives but how to get there and keep it is another story. In this category list your biggest financial desires and wishes in terms of improving your financial situation. How much is enough? Is it independence and freedom you’re looking for or a complete wealth empire? No dream too big here as money can do a load of great things when handled in the right way.

Health - How’s your health? Does it need some improvement or does it just need to be maintained? Are you using the muscles you’ve been given to keep using them in the future? How about bad habits? Do you have any you’d like to rid yourself of this year? Habits affect a large amount of us today and they can rob us of the joy we’ve been given as human beings. Eating disorders, smoking, alcohol and drug abuse can be a major detriment to our lives and hold us back from achieving the dreams we’ve established in other areas of our lives. These habits are not easily broken but they can be with the support of others, your full commitment and a handful of self-sacrifice. Start by listing and admitting the vices you’re facing today and seek a personal support team that you can share your struggles with and learn from. (Remember you can choose not to share this information with your spouse and/or coach in the Share Settings if you’re not ready to go public with this information).

Pleasure - What experiences or adventures do wish to encounter during your lifetime? What would you really like to do? Where would you like to visit? Who would you like to meet? These are the questions you need to ask yourself in this category. Without a list how could you remember to do them all? In the Pleasure category write down all of the experiences you’d like to have in your lifetime. This wonderful world we live in has an enormous amount of exciting things for each of us to do every day and it’s time we moved closer to doing them!

Public Service - Serving others has been a long-standing commandment for each of us who grace this wonderful planet. In this Public Service category we’d like to ask, “What would you like to do to give back to the community, church, social group, etc. during your lifetime?” Letting someone know you’d like to help and just being available is a great place to start. Once you’ve taken this step you’ll be on your way to a very significant life in your service to others and your community.

Spiritual - Though a sometimes a controversial subject, spirituality is part of all of us. Each of us can benefit from growing this part of our lives and achieving a better understanding of what part it plays in our in life. Every human being was created with a void in this area and it needs to be filled for us to live successful and significant lives and lives according to our purpose. What questions do you need to get answers to today? What is your purpose in life? What impact do you want to leave on those around you? Do you know what will happen when your life comes to an end? Where do you need to be challenged in your spiritual life? By establishing some basic Dreams in this section you are acknowledging the importance of your Spiritual life and you will gain a better understanding because of it.

Other - This is a miscellaneous category in which you can enter dreams that don't fit into the other 8 categories.
